I'm using WorkOut with the EnVision driver but WorkOut displays: "The VICTOR server failed to start. Do you want to retry?"

Document description: I'm using WorkOut with the EnVision driver but WorkOut displays: "The VICTOR server failed to start. Do you want to retry?"



This situation can occur if WorkOut is installed with the VICTOR driver but the VICTOR manager is not installed. To recover from this situation and configure WorkOut to use solely the EnVision driver follow these instructions:

Go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | select WorkOut | Change/Remove | Modify and remove the VICTOR driver, i.e. untick it.

Next, modify the registry, as follows:

Go to Start | Run | and type regedit

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dazdaq\Manta

Find DisableHLD

Change this value from 1 to 0.

Next launch WorkOut and go to File | Options check the EnVision driver is selected

Select Create a new protocol to check the EnVision driver is now available.

If there is any problem at this stage go back to registry, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dazdaq\Manta

Find DefaultHLD check this value is set to 1.
