“Page cannot be displayed” message in Organiser’s preview pane.

Document ID: DQ259
Relevant to following products: WorkOut 2.0 Manta
Document description: “Page cannot be displayed” message in Organiser’s preview pane.

The “Page cannot be displayed” message may occur in the preview pane (bottom right) of the Organiser when selecting a file in the Explorer pane (top left)

It helps to understand how the Organiser works: Each Assay Results (ARS), Assay Protocol (APR) and Data Acquisition (DAQ) file has a corresponding MHT file (a self contained HTML file) which contains the content for the Organiser’s preview pane.

For example, “My Generic.apr” will have a preview file “Preview - My Generic.mht”. The MHT filenames are hidden in the Explorer pane in the Organiser, but you can see them if you go to the corresponding directory in Windows Explorer and navigate to My Documents\My Assays.

In the Organiser when you select an ARS, APR or DAQ file, the contents of the corresponding MHT file is displayed in the preview pane.

If for some reason the MHT file is missing (such as you move one of these files to another PC without its MHT file or you rename the file so that it is out of sync with the MHT file) the preview pane will display the “Page cannot be displayed” message. This is not a serious problem, the next time the file is opened the MHT file will be recreated.

There are other situations where the MHT file maybe missing, but if you open the file it should be created.
