Document description: How to: Move WorkOut VICTOR protocols from one PC to another?
VICTOR measurement settings are stored within the VICTOR database on the PC controlling your VICTOR. WorkOut protocols which control the VICTOR reference this database. This means that if you move your WorkOut protocol to another PC (with a different VICTOR database) you will not be able to run the WorkOut protocol. In this situation you will you received an error message such as:
"MRunRes Run-time error '2147352567 (80020009) Protocol (num. 9000XXX) from database contains no labels""
“Error Loading Protocol (num 9,000,XXX) from database - Protocol was not found. Protocol ID was 9000XXX.”
(Where 9000XXX is any number)
One solution is to use the VICTOR Protocol Editor Tool. This tool edits your WorkOut protocol (APR) to use a new VICTOR record which you create on the new PC. Run this tool on the PC you have transferred your WorkOut protocol to so that your WorkOut protocol references a new valid record.
Download the VICTOR Protocol ID Editor tool from here for WorkOut 2.0
Download the VICTOR Protocol ID Editor tool from here for WorkOut 2.5 (R1)
Download the VICTOR Protocol ID Editor tool from here for WorkOut 2.5 (R2)
Unzip and store the EXE somewhere convenient on your PC. Run the tool and select or browse to the APR file to edit, then press the Create and use new VICTOR record... button. The description of the old VICTOR record will be displayed in a message box. Press OK to create a new VICTOR record (ensure you are using the same settings as the protocol expects). On closing the VICTOR editor you will be prompted to overwrite the WorkOut APR file.
If there are any differences between the new and original VICTOR settings you will be alerted when running the modified protocol (such as different label names).
