Document ID: DQ240
Relevant to following products: WorkOut 2.0 WorkOut 1.5 Manta Stingray
Document description: How To: Save an Excel file as text for importing into an assay.

Assay Protocols can only import data from a text file. If your data is stored in an Excel file it must be first converted to a text file. To convert data in an Excel file to a text file:
  1. Open the file in Excel.
  2. Select the active worksheet to save as text
  3. Select File | Save As
  4. Under Save as type: select Text (Tab delimited)
  5. Enter a filename for the new text file
  6. Press Save
  7. If your Excel file has multiple Worksheets Excel will warn that only the Active sheet will be saved. Press OK to confirm.
  8. Excel may prompt that there are features not compatible with Text (Tab delimited) - press Yes to continue.

Before trying to import the data, make sure you close the document in Excel.
