When launching the software from an account other than the administrator account (who installed the software) a progress dialogue box is repeatedly displayed reading: “Please wait while Windows configures…”. After this is displayed a number of times the software starts, however it is displayed again when other functions are used.
Prior to builds 298 the software installation installs example files under only the administrator’s My Assay folder – it does not install the example files for each user. These example files are not required by the software, however when running from a non-administrator account Windows Installer system thinks that parts of the installation are missing if it cannot access these files and will try to repair the installation, hence the “Please wait while Windows configures…” message appears.
To resolve the problem update your software to the latest build.
As an alternative resolution to the problem you can share the administrator’s My Assays folder. To achieve this log on with the administrator account which was used to install the software and navigate to the My Assays folder. Next mark the folder as shared. You can also optionally tick the “Allow network users to change my files” – this is not required but recommended (if your administrator allows it + see below). This will only share files and sub-folders within the sub-directory of the My Assays, no other security aspect of the administrator’s account will be compromised with this setting.
It is also essential that the users have full permissions on the My Assay directory and its sub-folders. How this is configured will depend on your network configuration. The following article details how to do this:
