Document ID: DQ135 Relevant to following products: WorkOut 1.5 Document description: Problem: WorkOut 1.5 crashes when I try to run a protocol, it has been working fine without any problems until now.
This problem may suddenly occur after using the software for a long period of time without any previous problem:
When opening a protocol file and selecting to run the plate you get a message that WorkOut for Windows has encountered a problem and must close. It will say the problem is with a directory such as:
First check how much free space you have on your PC. If you are low on disk space delete any unnecessary files.
If the problem continues then it could be because the temporary directory is full. There is a download program available from here to help resolve this problem.
Download, unzip and run the program. This will report the filename of your temporary directory and report the number of files in your directory. If the number of files is large (over 20,000) then delete the files from this directory using the button in the program.
Some of the files may not be deleted if other applications are open and using the files. In this situation you will be presented with a “Permission Denied” error. To resolve this exit other running programs and try again.
