Using WorkOut 2.0 with SMS 2000 LIMS

Document ID: DQ124
Relevant to following products: WorkOut 2.0
Document description: How To: Integrate WorkOut 2.0 with SMS 2000 LIMS

SMS 2000 is a bespoke system used by GSK. Dazdaq Solutions has provided a specific plug-in module to facilitate the integration of WorkOut 2.0 and the SMS 2000 LIM system.

Download and unzip the GTRANS module from here.

Simply store the GTrans.dll on your PC in the WorkOut directory, typically C:\Program Files\Dazdaq\WorkOut 2.0. You must then manually register the file, to do this go to Start | Run and type (make sure you include the quotes):

regsvr32 “C:\Program Files\Dazdaq\WorkOut 2.0\gtrans.dll”

Now the new “SMS 2000 Export” transform is available to WorkOut. This is similar to the existing “Matrix Export” transform with the following differences:

Filename has a default .a95 extension
The transform defaults to single output table export
Pat is used as column header
Right-justified well numbers are used
2nd line in export is a blank row
Data is displayed to 4 decimal points
Well output is top to bottom first then left to right by column (A1, B1, C1, D1, E1, F1, G1, H1, A2, etc...)

Please note, currently there is no specific help page so when you select the “SMS 2000 Export” transform, the screen will display the Page Not Found message, this can be ignored.

To use this transform, setup you protocol as required and add this transform specifying the export options as required. When you are happy with the settings, save the new protocol and then all future runs of the protocol will export data in the SMS 2000 format.
